Architecture Jobs, Jobs In Interior Design & Autocad Jobs

NEW ZEALAND MARKET UPDATE END OF FINANCIAL YEAR 2011

Director of A & S Consulting, Shane Fenton gave us the following update:

Things in NZ are fickle, both interiors and Architecture. Most of work is for Technicians or Graduate/Registered Architects 5/10 years work experience and emphasis on documentation. There are no requirements for Senior Architects. Most of the larger companies are ticking over, mid sized companies doing medium sized projects seem to be the busiest; although not long term. Projects are still being stalled. Clients are cautious and uncertain of mid to long-term plans, roles are taking long time to fill as clients are very fussy and as project sign of are being delayed decisions are not happening. Some roles are very difficult to fill as the skill set is just not available. With the market being as it is, applicants are tending to hang in with what they have, rather than change jobs. Most of the contract work is short term, although some have been rolling over. Revit and BIM are the main call here also, with clients wanting the applicants up to speed.

On the positive note more people have found jobs this year, interest rates are still very low, the sun is shining today and we are hoping the second half of the year will see some projects happening.

CONTRACTING - WHERE DOES IT FIT ...  [23/06/2011]

Bloomfield Tremayne and Partners has been working within Architecture and Interior Design for the past 25 years and over this time we have seen some very big changes within the market – most notably since 2000 the apparent shift in preference away from contract and back towards permanent engagement of staff. As a result we felt it important to address this change and dispel or confirm any myths that may exist out there about engaging Contract personnel.

MELBOURNE MARKET UPDATE - SEPTEM...  [22/09/2010]

Recent months have sent a range of mixed messages to the market, with a tightly fought Federal Election, a looming State Election in Victoria (Late November), along with variable signals from the economies in Europe and the USA. With this being the backdrop as we approach the final quarter for 2010, there are positive signs in certain areas, indeed some sectors feel that they are booming along, however other market areas remain relatively downbeat. Mixed into this is evidence of new projects emerging within the private sector that, if they continue, bodes well for 2011. [Read More]

Looking ahead into 2010 sees elections at both State and Federal levels in the latter part of the year, mixed messages at a federal level over further “stimulus” spending and continued financial uncertainty in Europe.
